Coastal loss against Vale
With holidays now in full swing we struggled to get a team
but managed to pull in some youngsters.
This was our longest trip travelling to Vale situated in Ogmore-by-sea,Southerndown.
Afer enjoying the coastal run in we arrived at the ground & I had already decided in my mind if we won the toss to bowl to give us the best chance of winning the game. This duly happened & opened the bowling with Chris Haggerty
(9-0-39-2) bowling up hill & J Baker (9-3-10-0) being normally a change bowler bowling superbly without any luck.Looked around for the next change bowler & decided with Patrick Baker (8-0-33-2) & making a come back Ian Rose(6-2-21-1).In this spell we managed with some luck to take a few wickets.
Vale were now struggling on 54 for 5 but were only to see another one wicket to fall.Brought into bowl Josh Thomas (6-0-29-1) & making is debut in the bowling arena Tom Darling (3-0-22-1).Vale ended up with 161 for 6 with us not performing very well in the fielding being very ragged at times & dropping 3 catches.
After tea opened with captain Dirk Daniels & Tom Daring
with the skipper mistiming a short ball & playing on.
Batting was mixed up with the younsters but the only batsmen to contribute were Tom Darling with a score of 34 & Chris Haggerty with 11 ending up with a total of 70 with Vales opening bowler W.Lloyd taking 7 wickets for 14 runs.
The youngsters who came in at the last momment performed well in the field & showed promise.
MOTM Tom Darling who batted well for his 34 runs & also made is debut bowling
TFC Thanks to Adrian White & son for making themselves available at short notice.
