Not sure if the game will be on or not due to the inclement weather we are currently experiencing but lets hope we can get a game in and keep up the momentum

What a win!!! 2s trump Tondu in table topping clash

July 2nd, 2008

Lusardi won the toss and opted to bowl on a surprisingly hard wicket,
opened the bowling with Duncan Gwilt and Tom W. Clive their skipper came out all
guns blazing for the first 4 overs until the boys settled into their rhythm
bowling the next 15 overs for less than 30 with Duncan taking Clive,
chopping onto his sticks and almost taking a wicket with his last delivery
with a fiercely disputed stumping decision. Lee Bray and Richie Matthees came on and
despatched a couple more along with Simon Davies. Then Gumpy and Carl
mopped up the tail, notably Gumpy with 2 cracking inswinging yorkers.

Opened the batting with Matty Evs and Clarky who made a steady start
with M.E going early. Simon made steady progress as he struggled to find his
rhythm then Clarcky edged behind caught by wk. Bray came in and hit a few
musty blows before a plumb lbw decision. Rich Matthews wasn't far behind
after spooning one to long on as we started another Blackwood collapse. Out
stepped the stand in skipper who struggled to find runs from some tight
bowling before running Simon out for 30 odd. Soon after, the skipper was gone
after once again being gunned down by Clarky with a huge stride in.

Gumpy also went quickly along with Carl Gwilt. At this point we were on the ropes
at 90 odd for 8 and requiring 142 to win. Out stepped T W and Keith (Norville)
who duly steered us to victory with some smart stroke play and very good
running. especially Rhys who showed maturity beyond his years

MOTM - Rhys Norville and Tom Watkins for a match winning partnership

TFC - The Stand In skipper

Meet at 12:15

One of the toughest selection meetings I've been involved in tonight boys

An awesome win against Tondu last week chaps, lets keep up the momentum. A tremendous competition for places in the club at the moment, we have to do the business as there are guys in the 3s hammering the door down trying to get in. Missing players from this weeks 1s will be back next week so lets make it as hard for the selectors next week as it was this
